Scarlett and Zach didn't need a traditional venue. They needed a cabin on a golf course in Show Low, Arizona with a babbling brook — and I mean babbling — running alongside it, pine trees everywhere, and giant glass doors that looked out over the most unexpectedly gorgeous view I've shot in front of.
They found it. It was perfect.
The house was full all day. Family and friends from near and far, calm and present and genuinely happy to be there — which, fair warning, makes a lot of sense when most of your guests are therapists.
The energy in that house was something else.
Scarlett had spent weeks quietly working with me before the wedding to track down the perfect camera as a gift for Zach on the day of.
He had no idea.
The rings sat on the entry table all morning so every guest could hold them, say a prayer, leave a good thought, put something into the marriage before it even started. Small, intentional, beautiful — that was the whole theme of the day.
They moved every piece of furniture outside to make room for the ceremony and reception. The cocktail hour had this incredible accidental outdoor living room situation happening that I'm still thinking about. The ceremony was indoors, in front of those glass doors, with the golf course and the trees behind them.
Stunning doesn't cover it.
And then the bride asked me if we could do the Taylor Swift run photos. I had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. I figured it out when I took them. They are some of my favorite images I have ever made.
This one is in my all time top weddings. You'll see why.
